Poet Georgia McDade will visit Monday morning writing group on Nov. 26, which will be led by Rita M. McDade provided this quote 'From the Author' of "Outside the Cave II":
My poetry examines many subjects and issues, but a common theme I observe is the unique human experience of everyday living. Sometimes by exposing the humor and the tragedy of encounters, missed opportunities, diminished dreams, I come away with a deeper awareness of our existence. I share what I see and feel in a way that I hope contributes to better understanding of self and others. I want others to see and understand MORE, not necessarily agree or disagree, but see: people, loss, inequality, time, war, the world in a way that brings openness rather than restriction. Too often is there tension caused by the difference of ideas between two persons or groups. Too often words and attitudes are presented as the only way possible. Awareness is an evolution that opens us to ourselves and others. Weighing, judging, deciding, selecting takes time and may create tension. Usually my discoveries help me avoid paralysis by alleviating or ending the tension writing. -Georgia
